WHO AM I?

Γεια σας! I am Zach Kotsi and I’m from Greece. I was raised in the beautiful island of Mykonos and started acting at the age of seven where I didn’t show up to my first show. Yes, very unprofessional I know but to be fair, I was young and stupid. However, in high school when I was seventeen, I truly caught the acting bug when I did my first show “Three Nazis in Hell Together” written by Vassilis Anastasiadis where I played the role of Seraphim.

Training

My training began with private coaching from Nikos Katis at the Athens Acting Studio, who trained me the same way Micky Goldmill trained Rocky Balboa. Like Micky preparing Rocky for Apollo Creed, Nikos sent me off to my fight for my dreams in New York City where I attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts Two Year Conservatory and became the graduating Class of 2020.

Current Projects

By the end of February at our school, I played the role of Dorn in the classical Chekhovian piece “the Seagull” directed by Chris Dolman. It was a magical night because this was the first production I had ever performed in and not only that, I finally experienced the energetic connection between the artist and the audience within the theatre stage.

I also dabbled in my first student film and played the lead role of Oliver in the short “Love, Rose” directed by Martha Siachou.

Due to the situation happening with COVID-19, I am currently working with different online mediums such as Zoom alongside other artists in order to collaborate and create work once self-isolation is over. Presently, I am a part of the cast of my school’s graduation show “Ruined” written by Lynn Nottage and directed by Susan Pilar where I look forward to playing Mr. Harari.
